The Rules of Archway

We know that you all really don’t like rules, but all sites need to have them in order to have a successful role-play community. So, I’m just going to try and make this as quickly as humanly possible.

RESPECT all members on the site, especially those on the administration or in a higher authority position. If you fail to do so, you will be warned, which is not always good, especially if I, Storyteller (Lilli), am the one punishing you.

YOU MUST HAVE A REAL NAME. You are NOT allowed to leave your display name as your login name. This is a BIG no! By saying this, I mean that you cannot have this displayed as your name "hplover4eva". Instead, you must have the name (first and last) of your character. A good example is, Jennifer Banner or Brian Wallace. You have a brain, use it. If you need help thinking of a name, ask me or another member. We are all creative and enjoy helping others.

ROLE PLAYING is to be done in third-person point-of-view and in past tense. If you fail to follow this rule, you will have a warning. Also, you must use proper grammar, punctuation, spelling, et cetera. DO BE NICE, NOT EVERYONE IS NATIVE ENGLISH WRITING

THERE IS TO BE NO USE OF VULGAR LANGUAGE OR SEXUAL REFERENCES! I don't care if you like it or not, no one cares if Bobby Joe and Mary Sue want to start a family; you are not allowed to have sexual references or threads on this site. You are allowed to use profanity, but only to a mild extent. There are younger members on this site, and I doubt very seriously they want to read all of those crap threads.

THERE ARE TO BE NO RACIAL, RELIGIOUS, OR PREJUDICE COMMENTS MADE! If you are going to be prejudiced against someone because of their background, you might not want to join. We take things very seriously, and if you have a problem with it, too bad.

YOU MUST BE THIRTEEN TO REGISTER! If you are below thirteen years of age, sorry, you cannot join. This is not our rule, but rather, this is the rule of proboards and part of the “Terms of Service.” If you are under thirteen, we, the administration and site in total, can get into some severe trouble. Please abide by this rule!

NO OOC POSTING IN IC POSTS. Sure, if you have to go and want to let someone know you are leaving, tell them SHORTLY in the post. There is an OOC board for you to use to talk OOC. If there is a MUST for posting OOC in IC topics, you must make it noticeable that it is OOC. Ways of doing this are brackets, double parenthesis, or other ways that make it obvious.

DO NOT STEAL THE SITE WORK! The work on this site is copyright to the members, being that their work is their work and not yours. If you wish to possibly use something on the site, please ask for administration permission and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

SIGNATURES must be no bigger than 520x200 as any bigger than this will stretch the board. You will be getting a PM if your signature is too big, asking for it to be resized. If it is not within 3-5 days, your signature will be taken out by a staff member.

HAVE FUN! This is the most important thing. Please make sure that you have fun and enjoy yourself. There are rules for a reason, but we want you to have plenty of fun so that we can have a nice enjoyable RP environment. The applications password is Magic.

ADVERTISING. If you want to advertise, feel free. Invite friends, family, and anyone you can think of to the site. We love new members and activity.

I think that I covered all of the rules. If you are still confused about something and need to ask questions or something, feel free to PM any of the admins.
